 Just a reminder chasps ,,,,,,,Easter monday April 5th 2010,, Well worth the trip to watch ,,,,,,,,,,theres a trial on the sunday to with camping overnight available on site , beer tent & band on the sunday evening ,,,,,,,,we all know Tim manton from our meets ,,,,,,,,,he is normaly a flyer to watch ,,,,,,,,,,he had one of those 2 speed pre select gear boxs fitted last year ....no bu**ering about with foot change ,,just a quick pull on a lever on the bars & your'e off on stage two,,,,,,,,,, ;D ;)il'e be cheering for him,,,,,,..rich.

Turned out to be a brilliant but cold day ,,,,,,Leigh owen on a 500 jawa grass bike took the honours , The last lump in the hill produced some fantastic high & long jumps from the fast lot, best ive ever seen , There was also a early 400 maico (yellow one) & a 1969 400 husky giving the big dope burning four strokes a run for there money,,,,,,,,,great to see ,,,shows you dont have to spend 20 grand on a trick special to get in the final few,,,,,,,,, ;D,,,Lr.

it was a shame not being able to go this year as it sounded like a great day out,,,,,,,,well i'll have to make sure the taco's in tip top condition for next year then,,,,,,,, and see if your right about not having to spend 20k on a trick bike.

How wet was it? Usual sized crowd? Any locals competing? The rain held off all day ,but the ground was slippery,,,,,,,,the emergency exit on the left hand side for those that never got to the top was like a ice ring from top to bottom ,,,,,,there was a few names from the D C S C events that i recognized ,,,,,,,,,the crowd looked down on last year & far less trade stalls ect.....but still a good turn out,,,,,,,,, Fastest time was down 2 secs on last year,,& big Mr browning broke his jawa again , then looped his borrowed bike ,,,,,,,,,he also had his trials bike there ,,,,,,,,seems funny to see a speedway jawa engine in a trials bike but it looked very neat ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Lr. |
