Hi to all , i was down in north Devon a couple off weeks ago to watch the Coombe Martin classic scramble and as a result am now hooked on the idea of giving it a go myself, I have done enduro's in the past ,school boy scramle back in the day and still green lane but feel pre 65 is right up my street having built several classics in the past . I have a c15 powered b40 and wondering if there was anyone out there kind enough that i could have a chat with regarding what i can and cant run within your club meets ,with euro jumble looming and the thought of getting the old girl in to action any help would be much appreciated . cheers Martin

You choose the wrong title for this forum if you want your tread to get read! ;D
I'm not the most knowledgeable on the pre '65 scene but I know what we allow! We are not particularly rigid with our compliance rules, with the main thing being within the spirit of the class. We have been running of late the following groups- Pre '65 up to 350cc, Pre '65 over 350cc, Pre '74 up to 250cc, Pre '74 over 250cc and 4 twinshock groups based on ability. In the twinshock groups there are a number of home made "specials" which have to have two rear shock absorbers, drum brakes and an air cooled motor. There are exceptions to theses rules as there were some bikes manufactured in the late '70s with Monoshock frames. There would be nothing stopping anyone entering a pre '65 bike in the twinshock ability based groups. In fact with the reducing numbers of classics about I expect that this is the way it will go in the future. As a club we try to be as accommodating as possible, after all we're all out to have some fun.
