I think the ball bearing mod is for the very early stuff ,,,,,, Yours should be one of of the later boxes , Strange its jumping out of all gears with a bit of pressure on , The one thing you can do from the outside , is check the detent spring & plunger ,,,,,,if your sat on the bike its a 17 or 19 mm nut just right of the rear engine mounting ,,,,,,theres a tube nut .spring & plunger ,,,,you should have a good bit of tension as you wind it up tight , not to tight though as the selector wont move , Down side is i cant remember if you can check this this in place ,or if you, just have to pop the motor half out ,,,,, 25 years or more since i played with them ,,,,,,,,, ;D,,let us know how you get on ,,,,,,,,,,good luck ......... rich,

EEk.....EEK......and double EEEK the z250 kx250 project has been consigned to a box in the corner of the shed marked "get round to it some time" the whole thing got way to complicated and time is running out if I want to be out in June All is not lost however ;D Ebay came to the rescue with a KL250 frame for 99p . the front and rear bouncy bits from the KX have been bolted on but I have a large hole in the middle that needs an engine Can anyone help me find a KL engine and a few bits to make sparks and put fuel in I'v got some beer tokens on standby ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think a son of a certain forum member might have a C90 engine you could have ;D Not sure if he's old enough for beer tokens though

Blimey hope it hasnt damaged anything ,,,,,,,,, give the shaft a little rub with some wet & dry ,,,,,,,,,when you do the nut up dont use a windy gun,,,,,,,,,,tighten it up as best as poss with a socket then give the handle of the 1/2 inch ratchet a couple of sharp taps with a 2lb lump hammer ,,,,,,,,if theres a bit of sideways play on the key way stick some lock tight in it ,but dont start the motor for 24 hours ,,,,,,,good luck ,,,,,,,,,itle be fine mate ,,,,,,,,,think positive ,,, ;D ;D
